Fuel tank replacement for Portsmouth Ferry Dock

This project involved the removal and replacement of two old cylindrical tanks along with their fuel transfer pumps. The original tanks were replaced with one larger tank. Two new cabinets were also built, one to store pumping equipment and the other for control and gauging equipment.

The old tanks had deteriorated particularly on their underneaths which had become rotten. To prevent this same problem from occurring with the new installation the replacement tank was placed on steel girders. This adaptation permits easier access to the bottom of the tank, allowing for tank inspections and any necessary repairs. The two cabinets were also placed on steel girders to increase the longevity of these structures.

The clients were very happy with their improved and personalised instalment.
